Michael Jordan issues heartfelt statement following the passing of Stacey King

Michael Jordan has released a heartfelt statement following the passing of former Chicago Bulls teammate and longtime broadcaster Stacey King.

“I’m deeply saddened to learn of Stacey’s passing. We shared some special years together as teammates, and he was part of a group that helped define an era of Chicago Bulls basketball. My thoughts are with Stacey’s family, friends and everyone whose lives he touched.”

Jordan, who won three NBA championships alongside King during the Bulls’ first three-peat, said he was deeply saddened by the news and offered condolences to King’s family, friends, and the entire Bulls organization.

King, the sixth overall pick in the 1989 NBA Draft, spent four seasons with the Bulls and was a member of the franchise’s championship teams from 1991 to 1993. He also suited up for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics , Dallas Mavericks and balled across the pond before hanging up the sneaks for good in 1999.

After his playing career ended, he became one of the most recognizable voices in basketball as the Bulls’ television analyst, earning widespread admiration for his passion, humor, and memorable catchphrases.

As tributes continue to pour in from across the NBA, King’s impact on the Bulls franchise remains undeniable. Whether on the court as a champion or behind the microphone entertaining fans for decades, Stacey King leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered throughout the basketball world.
